At the mere age of eighteen with a smile that can brighten the darkest day, this model/ singer has started a journey to rise to fame and success. Along the way, she has met some of the industry’s finest, including Jennifer Lopez, Bow Wow, Missy Elliott, Christina Milian, Kangol, Cam’Ron, and 3LW. Her musical influences include Brandy, 3LW, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Alicia Keys.

    Raised by her mother in Harlem, New York, Amanda Lace always felt her mother was a key source of inspiration. With her mothers support and determination the hardest goals seemed easier. “My mother means the world to me and it meant a lot to me that she supported me in my goals.” She became interested in singing when she was just seven years old; only a few months after her grandmother had passed away. However, she didn’t become too serious about singing until she was eleven years old. At twelve, her and three friends formed “A2L”, a group which didn’t last long due to lack of interest in half of the members. At 15, Amanda Lace and Lea-Sym (also an upcoming solo artist) had formed Tru Harmony; a now disbanded group due to hectic schedules of both girls.

    Transitioning into a solo artist was at first hard, she recalls. “I was always used to having Lea-Sym with me which made me less nervous, but at times, she couldn’t be there and I had to do things myself.” Music was always part of her daily life. The immediate challenge was writing her own songs. The transition of singing another songwriters lyrics to then writing about her own personal experiences, was sometimes an unwanted trip down memory lane. A lesser person would have abandoned the songwriting position, but Amanda Lace would soon understand that love, though sometimes a simple emotion, may have been the hardest to write about. “At first it was pretty easy, and I was writing about new relationships, smiling when you heard your special someone's name, and it was easy to express my feelings. Then there were days where I would want to write about certain things in my life that have affected me like, my grandmother or even past heartbreaks. I would sit there and just thinking about it, I would get too emotional to even finish writing a sentence."

   Amanda Lace began modeling in December 2005 when her brother and photographer James Anthony approached her, "Amanda, I need you to be in some shots for me for my school portfolio." Thinking nothing of it, she agreed. After receiving very positive feedback about the pictures, she began thinking of modeling. Her brother and she constantly had photoshoots together and she started taking it very seriously, it was much more than a school project to them. He then had to shoot a video and commercial in which Amanda Lace also starred in [available for viewing pleasure in the media section] along with others. Amanda Lace is currently in college majoring in Audio Engineering and Production. A petite young lady, standing at 4’10, is blessed with a unique voice and persona in which you don’t find in most artists today. With amazing talent and her dedication to work, she is already in the making of becoming a musical and fashion icon.
